Story of Ev Effect

Our Story
2024 Everson Guild Spirit Award Winner - Lynn Gude

In 2017, Everson Guild passed out during a football workout due to sudden cardiac arrest. He passed away later in the day at a nearby hospital. He was 2 weeks away from celebrating his 15th birthday. He never made it to High School but left a lasting impression on those who had the privilege to know him. In the fall of 2017 a group of Middle School teachers from Hayes Middle School in Grand Ledge came together and created the Everson Guild Grand Ledge Middle School Comet PRIDE Spirit Award. The first recipients were chosen in Spring of 2018. Due to Covid, there was a lapse in honorees, but in the 2022/2023 school year, a new breath was brought in, and the idea of allowing our youth the opportunity to pay it forward within their community was born.

With this new energy a group of professionals came together to form the Ev Effect. While utilizing the simple words from Everson Guild’s Guide to Being Awesome, this group decided to create a non-profit to encourage love and seek ways to help others.
